Luke's Learning to Say Words

Luke has been sick and grumpy for a few days and we finally took him to the Doctor to find out he has an ear infection. Everyone said thankfully the antibiotics work quickly and they weren't kidding. Last night he slept through the whole night for the first time in weeks. He took awesome naps on his usually schedule which makes things so much easier on me since I am still working full time from home. He also has been so much happier which I always am grateful for!

Today while I was working he was playing with his toys and I took a second to video him and was able to catch him showing off a few things has has just learned to do....

At 11 months he now...

  • Hes waves Hi and Bye
  • He knows what a fan is since he LOVES clickers(remotes). He loves to visit Grandmas J room because he knows she will always let him play with it and he loves to watch the fan go around and around!
  • He knows what a car is and has started to say something that sounds like car and zoom when you ask him what a car says. He also will roll the car on the floor. Grandma J gave him a new car that is a cell phone and car which has been a new favorite for him lately.
  • He LOVES Balloons and has started to say something that sounds like the word!!! We have had balloons in the house for a few weeks for all sorts of celebrations and he will crawl or look at them when you ask him where the balloon is.
  • He knows what a ball is and says ball every time he sees one. We have a few of the large exercise balls in the house that he loves to find and play with. He will usually kick or through them around the house and then chase after them.
  • He also can blow kisses now and snuggles with his giant duck and bear. I haven't been able to get this on tape yet but I will definitely will try cause it is so cute!
  • Hes walking all over the place and has learned to climb onto the couch.
  • He still only has two front bottom teeth. All signs are pointing to those top teeth coming to visit soon though!
My baby is growing into a toddler way too quickly and as sad as it is that he isn't so little any more it is so fun to watch him learn new things!

Luke's First Ear Infection & Dinner with the Hardy's

Luke has been super fussy for more than two weeks now with a nasty runny nose. He hasn't been sleeping at all which has been exhausting! I kept questioning if it was an ear infection or just teething since he only has two little teeth and hes almost 1. Yesterday he started pulling on his ear so I knew I needed to take him to the doctor. The doctor got one little glance of the inside of his ear and said "Yup, its definitely an ear infection!" Poor little guy! I felt so bad but asked the doctor if I should have brought him in earlier and she said it was good to have them wait a little while before treating it so they build up their system to fight off infections on their own. I still feel horrible but I am glad we figured it out and hopefully the meds kick in quickly!

Here are a few pictures of him at the office where he loves to watch the fish!

(By the way my little chunky monkey is weighing in at 28lb 11 oz and 31 in long. OFF THE CHARTS!!)

After waiting 2 hours for his meds we finally made it home for him to take a nap. I left the room and checked the baby monitor to find him already sound asleep like this...

Peek...

....A Boo!

By the end of the day he already was acting a little happier. We met up with the Hardy's in Temecula for Dinner to celebrate Chris 19th Birthday! Luke had a blast hanging out with his cousins!

Happy Fathers Day to Our Dads!

We feel so blessed to have been raised by two amazing dads! We love you both so much and feel so blessed to have your example in our life to look up to. Something we have always said about both of you is that we love you for many things you do but one thing that has always stood out and made an big impact on us is how willing you are to serve and fulfill your callings above and beyond what is expected of you. We hope we can always follow your example as we are asked to serve. We love you and are so grateful for you! Thanks for being great dads and grandpas! Luke is a lucky little guy!

Happy Fathers Day Scott!

Today is Scott's 1st Fathers Day as a Dad! I got he and Luke matching ties for Church! I am so grateful  to have these two handsome guys in my life! I am so blessed to have such a loving, sweet, and hard working husband who is a wonderful father! He and Luke are already buddies and the more interactive Luke gets the more Scott is in heaven with his little boy!

Luke loves any chance he can get to go swimming, ride on his shoulders, go on bike rides, and play chase around that house with his Dad.

Luke gave Scott a fancy marshmallow roasting stick for summer BBQs, a new mouse pad with a picture of his favorite video game screen shot on it, and I gave him hair gel (I know boring but he needed it and when your saving for a house stuff like this becomes gifts! lol)

Scott likes to think he can guess what is in his gifts if he sticks them to his head... he definitely always keeps us laughing! Silly Guy!

A Big Week For Ryan..

It was a big week for my brother Ryan! We had a weekend full of celebrations....

Thursday he graduated from High School...

Friday he turned the big 18.... (I realized we didn't take any pictures)

and Saturday he was recognized for earning his Eagle in Scouting with his Eagle Court of Honor....

We are so proud of everything he has accomplished! He is the hardest working 18 year old I know! He honored me with a mentoring pin at his eagle court of honor but I have to say sometimes he is more of a mentor to me...He is such an example on always accomplishing our goals and trying new things! He can do whatever he sticks his mind to. Just in the last few years he has learned how to spear fish, kayak, fish for lobster, ASL, design amazing cakes, build websites, edit photos, be a CEO of a company for a class which went to a competition is San Diego which did amazing, planted a garden which we are very grateful for because it is starting to produce all sorts of fruits and veggies like avocados, berries, lemons, oranges, and bananas and he has become an uncle which he does an amazing job at. He's an all around amazing young man and I cant believe he has accomplished all of this in only the past 4 years. He will be going to BYUI this winter and off to a mission when he turns 19, I cant imagine what he is going to accomplish on his next adventures!

Ryan we love you!

Uncle Ryan's Boysenberries...Yum!

My brother Ryan has a green thumb which he has developed over the past few years while we were away in Idaho. I can't wait to attempt a garden of my own one day but for now we get to benefit from his hard work! He has fruit trees hidden behind the palm trees on my parents hill and these yummy berries along the side of the house which I just found out about this week. Luke LOVED them as you can see from these pictures....
